The students at Oxford Elementary School range from Pre-K through 6th grade. They have a variety of learning needs and a variety of strengths. Our students come from various backgrounds and homes. Even though have various needs, strengths, backgrounds, and homes they all share the love for Oxford Elementary School and practicing leadership skills throughout their total day. Our students come to school to learn, to be safe, to make friends, and to be apart of an amazing school community.
My Project
Our school has been using paper towels in the student and staff bathrooms for many years. As you know using paper towels is not only not environmental friendly but it also cost a lot of money. Having automatic hand dryers in every student bathroom in the school would help us to model to our students about how important it is to not be wasteful while also helping to save money that could be spent on classroom materials, books, and other school necessities. Last year alone our school went through boxes and boxes of paper towels, costing the school a total of over $1,500.00. This amount that could of been spent elsewhere if the school had automatic hand dryers for every bathroom. It is not only important to myself as a teacher but it is important to all the students and staff at our school to get this project funded and get these hand dryers in every bathroom in our school. Please help us create a more environmentally friendly school while also helping us to save money for other school necessities.
