My Students

There is no "typical" day in my classroom. I teach at a Title I school that caters to a low socioeconomic background community and a large ELL community. I teach general, gifted, and special education students. In my classroom, we love to complete hands-on, real-world activities and experiments and love to work in cooperative groups. We are learning how Social Studies and Reading impact our future. We love to learn about the world around us and relate our learning to things that happen in our everyday lives.

My Project

Several of my students are from low income families whose parents cannot afford school supplies. The tape and notebooks will allow students to have the materials they need to develop organizational skills needed as they prepare for middle school and to develop reading skills that will take them far in life.

Every student has the right to learn, regardless of family economic status.

With the notebooks and tape, students will be able to create interactive notebooks that research has proven help students retain information and develop critical thinking skills. The students will also take ownership of their notebooks and have something to call their own.
