Helping Students Find Comfort in Learning

My students need a place to sit for read alouds and small group learning. Our classroom floor is vinyl composition tile, which is way too hard for students.

My Students

The beauty of second grade is that the students still believe in the magic of learning. It is the teacher’s job to create an atmosphere that fosters this belief. I feel that learning is more personalized and the classroom becomes a community when the teacher gathers students on the carpet for a lesson or even just a good book. I would love to have a classroom carpet ready for the the excited new second graders to join me on by the beginning of the 2018/2019 school year. With your help, we can prepare a place for these students to build relationships and a community, while investing in the magic of their learning.

My Project

By donating to our project, you can make sure students have a comfortable home-away-from-home. You will help to improve and increase student focus by providing a comfortable, personal area where students can learn among their peers. This will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. This carpet provides squares to show each student’s personal learning space, which will minimize distractions and behavior problems, also increasing focus and academic achievement. With your help, we can prepare a place for these students to build relationships and a community, while investing in the magic of their learning. Let’s create an invitating place where students desire to learn.
