This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty community, many of them have experienced trauma in their lives and have difficulty getting to school.
My scholars are dedicated, hard working, and creative.
Almost half of my class is below grade level and have difficulty with basic phonics and number sense. 95% of my students are African American or Latino. No matter what in the classroom they try to find a way to never give up on themselves or each other. My students are producers, they have the mindset to want to change but the resources to help them accomplish their goals is almost nonexistent. It's hard to deliver excellent instruction without some requisite tools to help teach my students.
My Project
By having tablets, students will be able focus on increasing their learning! They are missing basic skills to help them move forward. The tablets will provide them the learning and engaging activities in order to master these previous skills.
By donating the tablets to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
