Helping Students At Risk Pass The State History Test

My Students

25 of my 9th grade students are in danger of failing the state history test in May. In order to help them understand the content, I am reviewing with them outside of school weekly the material and hope to put them in binders they can use to review.

My students are enrolled in 9th grade history.

These 25 students are in danger of failing their state test for a number of reasons. Some are second language learners and some have learning disabilities. A lot of the students have confidence issues as a result of these reasons and I hope to show them that with the right materials and someone believing in them they can pass the test.

My Project

I plan to create a year long review of the course with materials that I would like to give to the students at risk. These materials include reviews, practice tests and a glossary. They would use these reviews to aid in our out of class review and also at home to study on their own.

This project is important to me because I want to inspire confidence in my students.

I want them to have confidence that they can pass the test and to inspire them by showing that I have confidence in them.
