Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"I'm stupid!" This is what I hear everyday when I teach my students. They lack motivation and they are bored by learning. I would like to teach them that learning can be fun! If they think they are playing a game they don't realize they are learning.
Most of my students are fifth graders who are reading on a 2nd or 3rd grade level.
They have trouble with all subjects including reading, writing and math. If they continue the 6th grade I am afraid they will be lost and give up or drop out. I would like to motivate them more to learn and bring up there reading levels before they go to middle school.
My Project
If I had some educational games they would learn how to find context clues, sequence a story, find a main idea in a fun way and not realize they are learning. In math they will be able to learn fractions with pizza, or practice there multiplication facts and have fun. They would be able to learn real life application with money games. I could break the students into small groups and give them detailed instruction so they learn it and retain it for the next year.
If my students can enjoy learning, hopefully they will graduate with a regular diploma or even go to college.
Please help my students stay in school and maybe someday they will save the world!
