Helping Our Kids and Their Families Out of Poverty
My students need is to help them out of poverty and by helping them stay warm through out the upcoming winter with coats, gloves, shoes and bathing essentials.
We are a Head Start program. My students are three to five years old. We have all different diversities and lifestyles. We are all unique in our own way. We love to sit and grow together.
My class enjoys having large and small groups where we all get to sit together and are able to have hands-on learning experiences.
We also have family-oriented meals together and I let them serve themselves, and we all communicate and have conversations about what we are eating, what our daily activities will be, as well as what types of food are healthy and good for you and why. We make everything in our classroom a learning experience.
My Project
My project is to help the kids in my classroom with coats, gloves, hats, socks, under clothes, shampoo, toothpaste, etc, -things that they would need to have every day to be able to come to school and to be able to learn and be comfortable.
Not everyone is able to have the same things in life as others.
With me working with a nonprofit organization, I see many families in poverty. Some children come to school in the winter time- sometimes with no coats or socks or etc. Some of the children need to be bathed due to their families not being able to afford the things that they need to provide for their children due to poverty.
The first thing to success is education. I want the children in my classroom to have the best Head Start education that they can. My project is to help them stay warm, to sleep good at night and to stay healthy while getting their education.
