Help me give my students flexible seating, games that can be used for articulation therapy, and sensory tools that are needed to fill their sensory diet.
I am a Speech-Language Resource Teacher who works with students kindergarten through fourth grade. I work with students that have a wide variety of speech, language, and communication needs. I love my students because I am their outlet or break from the quick-paced regular education classroom. They come to me to help them learn, grow, and a sensory break.
My students are special to me because they constantly are challenging me to find new ways to help them learn and understand the content that their classroom teacher is giving to the rest of their peers.
I never know what mood my students will be in and I strive to always be that positive face that makes them eager to come to school every day.
My Project
With thees items, I would be able to work with my students on more hands-on learning. When you think about speech therapy, a lot of the tasks are talking. For young students, this is boring. I strive to make my classroom enjoyable, due to the fact the more you enjoy your work the more you can learn.
A student learns with their eyes, ears, and hands.
Having a sensory pleasing room will help my students grow and become successful in the regular education classroom.
With the games, they will be practicing turn-taking, sharing, communication skills, and body control. With flexible seating, they can wiggle and groove while sitting at their desks. The AlphaMags will allow them to work at the magnetic board to spell words, work on sounds, and leave messages.
