I work with students in Horry County, SC. My students come from multiple backgrounds and social status.
We are looking to make our classroom feel more like a home and see that the students get items needed for daily success.
My students come from many different backgrounds and because of the socioeconomic status of many we are considered a Title I school.
Many of the students we serve at our school come from less fortunate situations and would greatly benefit from a rich curricular experience.
My Project
At our school several students face homelessness. This ranges from living in homes without proper utilities to living at grandmas.
So many students come to school worried about their home life that I would like to help see to it that I could make it a little better through the school day and beyond.
Non-perishable snacks will help fill little hungry stomachs and drawstring bags will help when someone doesn't have a bookbag. The Ozmo bots requested will be a fun way to take their little minds off the stresses of doing without. Finally, a personal cubby organizer will work perfectly to keep their important items in if children are not in the same place each night.
