My second grade students are extremely hardworking, spunky, and loving. They love to have flexibility and choice in their learning. Each one of my students will not settle for "good enough".
They come to school each day ready to learn and absorb whatever they can.
We are a title I school in very beautiful, very rural Northern Michigan. Majority of my students are part of low income families and lack experiences due to financial difficulties, and the rural location. My goal to to give them the experiences they may not get at home.
My Project
Teaching at a small rural school means that I am not only the teacher of the common core subjects, but also the teacher of the "specials" including art.
My students are very excited and passionate about art.
I always try to give them exciting projects, and materials to use, so they are able to express who they are as artists.
Help funding this project will give my students new materials that they have not been able to use yet this year. I plan on including mixing primary colors into my lessons to help my students understand how to make other colors. I also plan on using different textured objects to paint with so they can see how that will effect their paintings.
