Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a Title I school where many students face financial challenges, making it difficult for families to provide basic school supplies and learning tools. Despite these obstacles, my students are hardworking, resilient, and eager to learn each day.

Technology is an essential part of our classroom.

Students use digital programs daily for reading intervention, math practice, assessments, language support, research, and independent learning. Unfortunately, our classroom does not have enough reliable headphones for every student.

Without headphones, students struggle to focus, hear directions clearly, and fully participate in individualized learning activities. Sharing limited equipment also reduces instructional time and makes independent work more difficult.

A classroom set of headphones would ensure every student has equal access to important learning opportunities. These headphones would especially support multilingual learners, students receiving academic intervention, and students who benefit from audio-based instruction.

The headphones will be used daily for:

Reading and phonics programs

Math practice and enrichment

Online assessments

Educational videos and research

Small-group instruction

Language support activities

At our Title I school, resources are often stretched thin, but our students deserve the same opportunities as any other child. Reliable headphones will help reduce distractions, increase independence, and maximize instructional time so students can fully engage in learning every day.
