Help me give my students the opportunity to learn how to read, write and speak in the English language fluently with grade level materials and opportunities for independent practice with scaffolding.

I have the opportunity this year to teach 39 ELLs Reading and Writing in a Title 1 School that was destroyed during Hurricane Harvey. My students were previously in a traditional bilingual program and this is their first year in an all English speaking setting.
While we are waiting for our school to be rebuilt and completed in January 2019, we are facilitating our learning in a middle school that was abandoned.
Along with our school, many of our students homes were destroyed and some students are still displaced. Approximately, 98% of our students are considered to be economically disadvantaged.
However, these students are resilient. They come to school every day, ready to learn and eager to learn the English language and do not let the challenges of language or socioeconomic status discourage them. It only gives them the drive to work harder. It is my goal to not only help them learn the English language but to become lifelong learners.
These bundled materials will help my students with the scaffolding, vocabulary, visuals and practice they need to not only learn the English language but to also master the grade level TEKS they will be assessed on at the end of the academic school year. The materials will help guide whole group instruction as well as give them additional practice during their independent and Daily 5 Workstation time. It will also help to keep the students engaged during their workstations and take ownership for their own learning. Because the bundles are packaged specifically by grade level and ESL, it provides my students exactly what they need to not only to learn the English language but also master grade level TEKS.
