My Project

I am an occupational therapist who works with students of all ages and abilities. I am always looking to provide them with a variety of tools for self-regulation and to improve their social and emotional well-being to promote optimal learning. These tools help increase their independence and self-esteem; they also help differentiate instruction by setting up their environment for success! Some include flexible seating; some are actual tools and materials for improved visual-fine motor skills.

The high-back task chair will be a flexible seating option for students with Autism, to provide trunk support (high back), but also vestibular movement with the ability to gently rotate, spin, etc.

The jumbo beanbag seat will support students on the autism spectrum and/or with social-emotional challenges. It will provide proprioceptive/calming input as it feels like a "hug", and will help them self-regulate and decrease their level of arousal to be able to then complete functional tasks (while in the chair, or after getting out of the chair).
