Help Young Authors by Jump Starting Our Brand New Classroom
Help me give my students and startup classroom a kickoff with the basic necessities for an efficient environment to have an engaging year of learning so we can print and illustrate our literary works.
My students come to school each day from a wide variety of backgrounds, settings, and abilities. As they enter each morning, those differences fall away and they all become eager, enthusiastic, and excited to see what's going to happen and where the lessons will take them as we begin our day. My co-teacher and I work hard to bring the world to them, one topic at a time, with a focus on involved learning, deep questioning, and solid literacy skills.
Reaching each student, at their level, to ensure they are successful is always a challenge.Learning to support each student has become goal #1 for us.
We want each student to come to school knowing they will be successful each day. That's not always an easy goal, but we are learning. We are finding what works and what doesn't. We are looking at our students, as individuals, and trying to see their needs. We are trying to find the time in each day to specialize our content for each child. We are trying to connect on a more personal level and find what makes each student click.
My Project
We are in a startup classroom with limited county funding and in need of printing and basic classroom essentials.
A high yield color printer is a must-have for our classroom.
This printer will enable me to provide differentiated lessons and activities for my diverse learners. I will be able to find and print resources and activities on the fly rather than waiting potentially weeks to have copies made. My students will also be able to print their literary works in color and provide the basics for them to illustrate. Finally, we will be able to quickly provide professional newsletters to our parents to communicate what is going on in our classroom.
