Help With Performance Attire for Students Eager to Dance

Help me give my students proper dance attire to build their confidence during performances.

My Students

Our school is located in North Miami, a vibrant city with lots of culture and a population of humble people of diverse backgrounds. The community’s per capita income is approximately $20,000 and only 19% of the community has a bachelor’s degree or higher. Most of our students will be first-generation high school graduates and first-generation college students within their families.

Our students need more exposure to sports, cheerleading, dance, performing, and visual arts, and they could benefit from learning the basics and proper techniques.

My Project

The pandemic has made live dance performances rather challenging. Learning has been taking place primarily through technology and virtual events, but the dance team has been deprived of the ability to choreograph, work together, and perform for an actual audience.

Building dance and performance skills helps students learn stage presence, spatial awareness, cooperation, and helps overcome the fear of performing for large crowds.

With the proper dance attire, my dance team will gain more confidence in their presence and performance quality, as the pandemic has made it more difficult to fundraise for proper performance attire.

Let's help revive our dance team and provide attire for students who may not be able to afford the cost of dancewear but are eager to dance.
