Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am teaching Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten student this school year! My students are very inquisitive, smart, curious, and truly make me smile everyday. I am part of a new program in my school district, continuing teaching via zoom. In my class, students are building relationships with peers and teacher, learning about a variety of academics, and social emotional skills. TK and K is such an exciting group/grade because they are developing their interests, abilities, and goals.
As an educator I make sure to always remain positive, enthusiastic, and encourage my students to succeed.
To also provide an equitable and inclusive classroom environment/community where ALL students have the same resources and opportunities regardless of race, language, culture, social status, etc.
My Project
My students love when I read to them and enjoy reading books as well. Everyday after zoom class I take extra time to read a fun/interesting/informational book for them. Seeing their happy faces and how much students express their opinions, what their favorite part was, and just how they relate to a story is truly amazing. All these wonderful resources will contribute to make not only me happy, but my students too! Incentives and writing materials come a long way, things students need and will be using for success. Thank you!
