This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How does a teacher teach without basic school supplies! I have 30 students and about 10 students brought in supplies the first day. It is now the middle of year and we are out of basic supplies.

My students come from a highly populated, low income urban area in the city of Chicago.

My students are not provided with the support and resources that they need and deserve, They are very eager, energetic, fun first graders who want nothing more than to succeed in the classroom and to meet their goals by the end of the school year.

My Project

We are just mid year and are running low on supplies. We are in need of scissors, glue sticks and dry erase markers. This time of year I find myself using the last of our classroom supplies and hope that it will be enough for the remainder of the school year, but this is not the case this year, seeing as I have 30 students.

Having a classroom replenished at this time of year would make a huge difference in my classroom.

I would not have students tell me they don't have glue sticks or scissors. They won't have to share dry erase markers because the one they have is dried out.
