Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from low-income and minority backgrounds. Most students rely on the meals provided at our school. Every student in our school receives free breakfast and lunch. The students I teach have a desire to learn every day. I consistently provide them activities and learning experiences that allow them to move while learning. We have a need to reach our students in ways that make them excited to learn. My heart breaks for these kids. We want to be a positive force in their life, and I do that every day because I love them.
My Project
We are in the age of COVID-19. We are limited in what we are allowed to use. I am asking for Power Pens and cards. The pens will light up green or red to help students determine if they selected the correct answer.
The requested resources will help students excel in math and reading.
I have also asked for clipboards because students need an area to write because their desk can sometimes have limited space due to the technology taking up space. Students at home do not always have an area to write and the clipboards will give them a hard surface to write on.
Our school currently has limited funds for our low income students. I want to see students continue to progress in a fun way.
