Who doesn't love using a computer for learning? My students LOVE using technology for researching, learning, and practicing new concepts! Help us keep our learning fun, engaging, and interactive with 3 new computers!
My students are a kind, fun, hard-working group of fifth graders who love learning and using technology!
What better way to keep students excited and engaged than to combine these two elements in our daily learning! Because most of my students come from low-income homes, many of them do not have the opportunity to practice math and reading skills at home, so I believe it is important to provide them access to these activities and games each day at school.
My Project
Each day, my students have the opportunity to practice math facts, do reading activities, practice spelling, and even listen to books via the internet. These activities are not only educationally beneficial, but they are also engaging, individualized, and interactive for all students. As part of our district initiative, I am required to get students on two computer programs a certain amount of time each week. However, I don't have enough technology to cycle students through these programs each day, so many students are missing valuable learning opportunities, that they are unable to make up at home. With 3 more computers, I will be able to ensure that each student can get the instructional practice time on the technology that they deserve!
Technology is such a HUGE part of students' lives in today's society and so important to include in learning to keep our students excited and engaged!
There are so many wonderful, educational computer programs available to us on the internet - we just need the resources to use them!
