Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am so very fortunate to have an ENL class that is made up of so many diverse children. Many of my students are immigrants from Bangladesh and come to this country not knowing English. I have the opportunity and privilege to help them become accustomed to the American culture. Many of my students' parents are also very involved In learning the English language.
Being new to the country, many of my students are eager and excited to learn.
They often help each other and watching them soak up the English language and culture is wonderful!
My Project
You would not believe how much time is wasted sharpening pencils throughout the day. Or how many sharpeners a classroom goes through in a single year!
A quality pencil sharpener is an essential tool for an effective classroom.
You may be thinking really something as simple as a pencil sharpener is so important in a classroom. Well it really is! Having a quality and heavy duty sharpener would solve a lot of problems! Time will not be wasted by students standing in front of a broken sharpener trying to sharpen a pencil. A quality sharpener can get multiple pencils sharpened quickly. Students will be prepared for the day or days to come with sharpened pencils in their pencil case. I will be able to have dozens of pencils sharpened quickly for any kiddo who may need it. Teachers like myself know the feeling of having another broken sharpener or standing in front of one that barely works. Time shouldn’t be wasted on a pencil. Please help this become a thing of the past in my room! Thank you!
