Help Wanted: We Need Tablets!
My students need more iPad minis for use in the classroom. We have enough for a small group of children, but I would like to work towards having 1 tablet for every 2 children.
My students are special in so many ways! They are always eager to learn and willing to try new things. Most of my students come from lower income families, so I'm always looking for ways to enrich their learning.
Kindergarteners are like little sponges... they soak up learning quickly and enjoy doing so!
My students are very energetic and love using new tools to help them learn. It is amazing how much they already know about technology.
My kindergarteners come into my classroom with a lot of different needs. Some have basic needs like clean clothes, breakfast, or an extra hug. Some children need to be challenged academically. Others need more support with fine motor and social skills.
Currently, we have 6 iPad minis in our classroom and they have made such a huge impact on our learning, home/school connection, and engaging our attention!
I have been able to find apps for reinforcing sight words, letters, sounds, and numbers.
The children have loved practicing those skills during center time.
I was introduced to an app that has been an amazing way to bring our parents into the learning in our classroom. Each student has a profile that they can upload things to and then their parents can see it from their device. Parents now have a different perspective on their child's learning.
Our current iPads are very exciting for my students to use. They are constantly asking to use them, so I would love to have more of them!
