Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

This school is a middle city school with students from many different economic and cultural backgrounds.
My students are asked to provide supplies which might be financially hard for them to get. Our school is a Title I school, and every donation goes a long way. Our students are driven to always do their best, but they struggle. They need financial and emotional support from their community to help them meet their true potential.
My Project
This is a very basic project. I thought I would never run out of pencils but I have. I need a few boxes of pencils to make sure my students are never without something to write with in any of their 8 classes. Pencils seem like such a trivial thing, but when you are buying them for 100 students, the struggle becomes real.
The only reason we don't notice how absolutely interwoven our thinking processes have become with older technologies - pencils, paper, electric light, penicillin, fire - is that they're old, so we've ceased to notice their effects.
