My students are excited to show what they know each day. These white boards will allow them to more effectively show me what they are grasping and allow time for me to immediately change instruction if needed before moving onto independent practice.
The students in our classrooms are diverse and hungry to learn as much as possible while they are in school.
Shamrock Gardens consists of PreK-5th grader gardeners. Our school is proud to be a Title I and a Magnet School of Distinction. Our scholars are eager to have outside learning experiences that help them gain prior knowledge with experiences they may not otherwise have.
My Project
These whiteboards would be used on a daily basis, both in whole group and small group instruction. In whole group instruction, students will be able to participate in guided practice and show me if they are grasping the topic before we move onto independent practice. These will be use for word work, spelling, shared reading and guided reading. In small groups, students will be able to utilize the magnetic letters in an organized fashion to make words and recognize spelling patterns, which will allow them to better their reading skills. Additionally, we will be able to use these in math to ensure that scholars have a workspace for problems.
This donation would improve my classroom because it will help drive the instruction in a more efficient way.
If I am able to check for understanding immediately, I will be able to make changes immediately in my lesson. These will also improve the level of engagement in the classroom. The students will learn how to be responsible for their own whiteboards, while being able to demonstrate their knowledge immediately.
