Mr. Stevens from Richmond VA is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students these materials to design and brainstorm ideas in our robotics lab.

We are an inner-city school that is determined to develop more students who are prepared to be a part of the workforce of the future. But we, as teachers, are forced to make this happen without the funding of the greater district.
First Robotics Team 2998 needs your help.
My students are hoping to develop skills relevant to their future careers. Many of my students wish to go into Computer Science, Engineering, and all of them wish to attend college. They are ambitious goal oriented children who refuse to be defeated. Unfortunately, we are not provided adequate resources to teach students the skills to compete competitively with other Robotics teams because we lack materials, instruction, and financial support.
Dear Potential Sponsors, we have a vibrant FIRST robotics team here at our high school. However, our students are woefully behind in their exposure to computer science and robotics, with meetings only after school to prepare for two regional competitions. At our school, there are no computer education classes, funding, materials, machinery, or equipment for the team. We must rely on fundraising and community support to meet our expenses and fees. Volunteer mentors share their engineering expertise to help the students who plan, program, and build the robot for competitions.
We are asking for your help in supplying our team with a rolling whiteboard to visualize and illustrate our designs during competition season.
These materials are crucial to teach students different engineering functions and creating team unity through a visual medium. We currently rely on a crummy, decrepit chalkboard for the whole team, which is not suitable for us because of the inconvenience of it's placement in our club room and for the recurring cost of chalk. This deficiency is yet another stumbling block for TJHS Robotics. We find ourselves regularly competing against schools with budgets greater than $30,000 along with brand new materials. Surrounding school systems are fully equipped for preparing their students for future employment and your assistance can help the TJHS team compete among the best.
Your donation paves the way for our students to have the chance to compete. Thanks for your consideration!
