Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are dual-language learners! These amazing students are working towards becoming bilingual and biliterate in both English and Spanish.
We are a classroom family that works together and plays together.
We understand that sometimes families have problems but because we are family we work through those problems in a caring, respectful and productive manner. A class focus is creating a safe and happy space for all learners.
My students are teachers! They understand that I am not the only teacher in the classroom. They are teaching and learning from each other daily.
My Project
I would love for my students to have board games available to them during recess time and on rainy days. Board games are fun and offer learning opportunities.
Board games have many benefits, not only are they fun, but they also help reduce stress and help children build logic and reasoning skills.
Board games will help my second-language learners boost their language skills and build their vocabulary. In addition to this, these games will teach the value of teamwork and teach my students how to be good losers.
These games will be used during recess time, during rainy days, and times when we need to unplug from our iPads.
