Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Knowledge of technology is such an important skill in this generation of students. Students must also learn to think creatively and work collaboratively with others. I want to provide my students with exciting experiences that will help them in these important areas.
I am the blessed teacher with bright and inquisitive amazing first graders.
They never cease to amaze me with their fearless attitude when it comes to learning new things. Our school is located in a very low-socioeconomic area. Although our school district does everything it can to provide as many resources as possible for our students, often the resources I would like to provide for my students are simply unavailable.
My Project
The use of headphones is almost a daily activity in my classroom. Using headphones in the classroom allows my students to stay focused on their electronic devise. The headphones will also help keep the classroom volume levels down. We are constantly on electronic devises in the classroom for math, reading, writing, and testing. Although, many of the students do not have their own set of headphones and it is hard for them to truly stay focused and hear what they are trying to accomplish. The use of the headphones will make such a great impact on the classroom as a whole and will help the students in their every day activities. We have had some donations in the past but they did not last long due to already being used and in poor condition.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
