This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
In reading class, my students will easily avoid reading words because they don't recognize or understand what its meaning. I want them to understand that "Through literacy you can begin to see the universe." - Grace Slick
We are a Title I charter school in Fulton County, Georgia.
Many of our students attend our school because their parents desire a choice in their education. Many schools in their area are overcrowded and understaffed. Parents want their children to feel as if teachers care about their education, and my school definitely cares!
My Project
My students will have daily access to the dictionaries that will assist them in identifying the meaning of unknown words that will help them to comprehend the text they're reading. The thesaurus within the dictionary will assist students in increasing their vocabulary by using more descriptive language in their writing rather than using "boring" words over and over.
Your generous dontations will help improve reading literacy and comprehension, increase vocabulary, and ultimately increase test scores!
Please assist us in reaching these goals prior to the end of the school year!
