This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Students in my classes are struggling to make up deficiency gaps of at least one to three years on average. Most (approximately 90%) are eligible for free lunch services.
The students who are at my school and in my classes work hard and want to succeed.
My students understand that it takes a concerted consistent effort on their part, and that they are responsible for their future and their success. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity; they diligently work to prepare for every opportunity afforded them.
My Project
The students in my classroom need to make up a minimum of one to three years deficiency gap.
The students in my classroom work hard and know that their education is their responsibility.
Please help them grow and succeed!
The largest deficiency for my algebra students is number theory, or just a general understanding of simple mental math, how numbers work, and how positive and negative numbers perform a dance on a number line. On-line enrichment programs like ALEK's, Khan Academy, and other electronic tutorial resources help close the mathematical knowledge gap and allow them access to higher level math knowledge.
My students have a lot of ground to cover to match the success of their upper level class-men. The senior class at my high school has 100% secondary education acceptance! I want that for all of my students as well!
