Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I cannot begin to explain everything I have learned from my amazing 5th graders. The past few years have definitely presented some challenges for our kids but as always the students have rose to the challenges they faced. Most of our students come from government-assisted homes and are from very low-income households. One hundred percent of our student body qualifies for free lunches. As much as my students deal with on a daily basis, they are amazing in the fact that they never give up. Our students are awesome!

These board games will give our students some time away from the computer games and give them some real time for interaction with their peers.

When asking the students what they would like to be rewarded with, several stated game days with all of their peers. These games would allow all the 5th graders to play board games together.
