Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are just starting their education adventure and I'd love to give them the best opportunities for success! Most of my students are from an economically strained area, and many cannot provide more than basic school supplies. Kindergarten is a time for learning and fun, and it sets the tone for the rest of the school experience. I want to make sure I am able to provide for these students to the absolute best of my ability! Thank you!
My Project
This project will help my students develop problem solving skills and encourage engaging, hands-on learning about science, technology, and math. These activities can also be used to develop literacy knowledge and creativity, artistic expression. I plan on incorporating teamwork and collaboration into these lessons as well! I also plan on using some of these items in our calm down spot, which helps students develop self awareness, emotional recognition, and emotional self regulation, which is extremely beneficial for children who are regularly exposed to poverty and traumatic experiences. Most of my students are entering school for the first time, and I would love for them to experience the joy of learning from the start!
