Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from truly diverse cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds. Each child has their own learning process and it is my job to support each of them by providing the tools they need to be successful in school. A large portion of my students have special learning needs. Despite the challenges that they face daily in and outside of school, my students love to learn new things and energetically seek new learning opportunities.
We are a Title I school and many of my students rely solely on myself and their other instructors to create new learning experiences for them.
As their teacher, I hope to provide the best learning opportunities possible so that they can exceed their potential.
My Project
Our class needs just a few items to help keep us organized. Since we do not have a large seating carpet, we sit on the floor. This can become crowded and disorganized, which takes away from learning time. The Carpet Spot Markers will help us identify a seating arrangement so that we can spend less time getting organized and more time doing our best learning. We do a lot of writing in first grade and our work needs a home. The folders will house the writing that we are working on in class and the sheet protectors will house the writing that we are finished with and proud to display in our writing binders. These simple solutions will take our class focus and learning a long way!
