My Students
My students are a diverse group of hard workers! They come to school every day excited to learn something new. All of my students are capable of great things, and need opportunities to access technology in order to succeed.
My third grade classroom is made up of 24 amazing students - most come from low income families and one-third are English language learners.
My goal as a teacher is to provide my community of learners with creative, challenging, and meaningful learning experiences every day. Despite the many challenges my students experience outside of school, they know that when they walk through the door of our classroom I expect their best, and I will do all I can to help them reach their potential.
My Project
Classrooms can be germy places, and when kids are sick, they are not in school learning. Research suggests that students who attend school regularly are more likely to achieve at higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance. One way to improve attendance is by eliminating the amount of germs that float around in our classroom.
This project will help my students stay healthy and focused on their goals by preventing illnesses through the use of tissues and essential cleaning supplies.
Having sufficient tissues will enable students to be able to cover and wipe their noses without having to leave the classroom. Clorox Wipes and paper towels will help decontaminate and clean all of our surface areas in our classroom. Once we have created a clean and healthy atmosphere, it will lead to healthier students, improved attendance, and a better education! These supplies will help maintain a healthy classroom environment for my students, which keeps them learning year-round.
