Aloha! My students are motivated, intelligent, and strive to excel. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
I currently teach AP US History and Polynesian Dance.
I believe that I have some of the best students in the nation, and I want to give them every opportunity to excel and grow in my classroom.
My Project
Temperatures are rising and summer has arrived. Our classroom would be very grateful to have eight large fans with wall mounts to keep our classroom cool. We currently have a few standing fans but they are not enough to keep us cool during the day. The fans will be placed on the sides of the classroom above students desk so they feel comfortable and ready to learn. I noticed that students feel tired and sluggish when its too hot and that prevents them from learning to the best of their ability. We hope to use these fans once school starts again in the Fall. We will be ready to fight the heat. We have never had fans with wall mounts and I think it will be the most effective way to keep the classroom cool. We use this class for APUSH and Polynesian Dance. It is a very large classroom that gets hot during the day because there are no windows, only 2 doors.
