My first graders have different experiences, abilities, and dreams, but together they make a great team. Despite their differences, each child is always willing to help a classmate in need.
These young learners understand that we need to work together and take care of one another and our classroom family.
We live in a city, and my students come from a variety of economic backgrounds. Our school services grades K-5 with 4 of each grade, as well as some mixed grade special education classrooms.
My Project
My first graders love to show what they know, and what better way than to use individual whiteboards. Mini whiteboards will provide my first graders the opportunity to share their work and get immediate feedback in a fun and engaging way.
Individual whiteboards are a great tool for actively involving students in the learning process.
They will also provide me with evidence of student learning, so that I may adjust my lessons and offer appropriate interventions.
They are multifaceted and can be used in whole group instruction, small guided groups, and learning centers, within all subject areas. Students love them because they’re fun. They build confidence, because 'mistakes' can be wiped away so that you can try again. The KleenSlate paddles come with markers that have eraser caps. The markers snap into the handle thus making them easier for my young students to use. They also have different templates and graphic organizers that can be placed behind the writing surface for "custom" whiteboards!
