My Students

My students are third, fourth, and fifth graders, and come from a large urban district in Ohio. They have a variety of socioeconomic and racial backgrounds and family structures. The kids love music and enjoy playing instruments, and performing for their parents.

Children at my school thrive with new experiences.

They come to school eager to explore new things! They love learning about different types of music. Our neighborhood has a diverse mix of cultures and families. My students are anxious to learn how to play hand bells!

My Project

I am interested in starting a hand bell choir at my new elementary school. So many of my students have expressed interest in playing instruments, but their parents don't always have funds to rent an instrument for them.

These will be played by third, fourth, and fifth graders who love to play and perform music.

Research shows that students that play musical instruments do better in school, and it helps their focus across the curriculum. I am hoping to give my students a learning experience that they would not otherwise have. These tone chimes will be used by students for years to come!
