Our students come to school ready to learn each and every day. They are an amazing group of diverse students, in grades PreK - 8, who have created a learning community filled with curiosity and kindness.
The diversity of our students is what makes our school unique.
Each student learns from each other and their multiple perspectives help to create a community filled with understanding and respect. Our school is made up of 400 students, many from low income families, in the city of Chicago. These students come to school with positive attitudes and ready to learn in spite of some of the challenging obstacles around them.
My Project
The resources we need are different types of dry erase boards. We will need blank, white dry erase boards to show our thinking in a whole group and small group, as well as in partners, around different math operations and math concepts. Students will be able to show their thinking to their teacher as well as their partner, and use their work to have great discussions about math strategies.
We will also need dry erase boards with grids and number lines.
This will allow students to show their work around area, perimeter, geometry, and fractions. Students will be able to save time drawing the math tools, and be able to focus on their math thinking and peer to peer discussion.
