I teach at a school made up of students from a variety of backgrounds. The school is a Title I school where over 60% of students receive free or reduced lunch. We have several students in class who are English Language learners.
Despite the fact that they all have such varying home lives, the one thing they have in common is they are all enthusiastic about learning.
I strive as a teacher to provide my students with the resources and experiences that will make the time we spend together in class meaningful.
Most students are visual learners, by giving them a way to see what is expected of them or how to clearly complete a task can help them be successful. Students will use a document camera as a way to share their hard work with their peers.
By sharing their work with explanations for their classmates all students will reach a higher level of understanding.
My hopes for my students include supporting them in achieving a sense of ownership and pride in their growing abilities. As a teacher, a document camera will allow me to model clear expectations for student work, it will also provide a way for me to support students through modeling.
