My students need wires, wire cutters, light bulbs, and other materials to learn electric circuits.

I teach science to second through sixth grade students in an urban high needs school. My students range from learning disabled who are classified as special education, to average abilities, as we as gifted and talented students.

Students need to learn about energy and how it is used, as well as how to conserve it. One important part of this is electricity and specifically, electrical circuits. This would be great but all we have are some batteries, light bulbs, aluminum foil, and some thing solid core wire.

With switches, battery holders, wires with clips, additional bulbs, and wire cutters. I could design lessons that would allow the students to see, touch, and experience electric circuits.

I believe in thinking big, and imaging the best. Maybe your donation of these supplies will develop one of my students to pursue a career in science. And just maybe that student might find the energy solution that will cut our tie with fossil fuels forever.
