My Students

We are a unique school in that we are located in a beautiful, rural area. Students from as much as 45 minutes away all come together to learn from each other and share experiences. Our school is surrounded by nature, so our students have a lot of hands-on experiences in the outdoors.

We have numerous wild animals such as deer, squirrels, lizards, etc.

that create a special set of knowledge for our students. Our students are wise and interested in the world around them. For such a young class, they are a hard working group focused on learning and continually improving. They care a lot for each other and the world around them.

My Project

Our classroom has not had a decent pencil sharpener in years. The ones we have had broke and/or do not fit the beginner pencils used with younger students. Scrambling to find new pencils or borrowing from other teachers really slows down our writing.

My students write on a daily basis in their language arts journals.

We also write throughout the day during math, science, social studies, and art. Having a reliable sharpener that will last for years will keep us working and learning efficiently. This sharpener is high quality and takes various sized pencils and colored pencils as well. It will be a great addition to our room!
