This is our third year in the Disney Musical in Schools Program. We have done Aladdin Kids and Lion King Kids. Currently, we are rehearsing for our production of Frozen Kids. Our Drama club consists of students from grades 4 and 5. Their roles in the club range from set design, costume design, actors, singers, stage crew, and dancers.
Friendship and Teamwork are our central focus and our students shine in every role they have whether it is on stage or off stage.
They are hardworking children who love the stage and rise to the challenge every year.
My Project
Putting on a wonderful performance requires time, patience, and hours of hard work from the performers and the crew. However, it also requires sets, props, and costumes to help the performers tell the story. One of the biggest moments in preparing for a show is revealing the final set and costumes to the actors, dancers, and singers.
During a set or costume reveal, students cheer, smile wide, and some even cry when they see the vision of their hard work coming to fruition on the stage.
Their voices and bodies tell the story but the costumes, props, and sets enhance their ability to make the experience even more memorable.
These materials will help the students by allowing them to be more creative, giving them more materials to work with, and helping them to "paint their story on an even more incredible canvas."
