My Students

I teach in a community-based school in North Little Rock, Arkansas. My students are eager to learn in this changing world!

My students are resilient 3rd graders who live within the community surrounding our school.

Last year they worked hard, mostly independently due to COVID-19 guidelines. They showed they are tough, but also need to be kids and need to express themselves.

My Project

Currently for me to show an example of an assignment or book, I have to stand in the back corner of the classroom with our document camera. This takes a lot of time for me to go back and forth from the front of the room to the back of the room during a single lesson. If students want to show off their work, they have to do the same.

Help us get a wireless document camera so we can present work from the front of the class.

Students need to be able to show off their work and see examples of the current task on the board without it being distracting. We are also wanting a few digital supplies which is where the gift card will be spent.

Students will also be learning a valuable lesson with these expensive materials. Students will learn the value of money and community as we carefully use the materials around the room. I hope to always instill the importance of financial literacy with students!
