What makes my students special? That's an easy one, my students come from all walks of life, and everyday they are ready to learn.
Imagine sleeping in a shelter because that's the best your mom can do.
Some of my students do that everyday, but still come in with the willingness to do their best! I don't know about you, but seeing some of the places my students have to call home, and them being able to come to school and give it there all is amazing!
My Project
In our classroom we rely on our laptop and data projector for many of our daily routines in the classroom. We start the day by projecting the daily warm up on the board, we use the projector to help to project our online math book to work together, and we use our projector to allow us to use our interactive whiteboard. Sadly our projector is no longer working.
When the students first enter the classroom they don't have to stop to pick up the daily warm up because it is already displayed for them to see.
Without our projector, we will have to waste time passing out the daily review, rather than getting right down to work. The students are use to this process, and it has work great thus far.
While working on a lesson I like to display the math book from the projector, for students who forgot their book, and to be able to work on problems together. By projecting the book they can see what problem we are working on, and where to put their work in their workbook.
Lastly, we have a wonderful interactive whiteboard that will no longer be able to use if we don't have a projector to display the information onto the whiteboard. The students really think it's a treat when I put the interactive board on. They are learning and having fun, so it ends up being a win/win.
These three reasons are why we need a new projector for our classroom. The students are in a great routine, and the projector really helped with getting them started on their warm up, helped them follow along and work with me, as well as, give them time to explore the concept using the interactive whiteboard.
