My Students
I work with 4 year-old students. They are just wonderful. They always come to school full of energy and ready to learn.
Some of them are really shy, but when given the opportunity, they show how very smart they are.
The majority of my students qualifies for free or reduced lunch so it is not a surprise that many of them have never been exposed to much, making school the greatest thing that has happened to them (best motivation to do my best as a teacher). Colorful, educational materials will be greatly appreciated.
My Project
I'm including in this project 6 headphones so my students can use some pretty good online programs without disrupting their classmates' learning. The Build-A-Number Houses game will be used in the Math center to reinforced subitizing and parts of a number in a fun way.
Since I teach Math in English, some of its concepts are hard to grasp for English Learners so I'm hoping to make it easier with these age appropriate and easy to relate materials.
For example, I'm planning to use the Positional Words Emergent Readers books to increase the exposure to location words vocabulary. And the Crazy Shapes Magnetic Building set will give them an opportunity to follow directions that include that type of vocabulary as well.
