My Students

I love the student population at my school. Most of them I have cared for as a school nurse since pre-kinder years. The students are caring, kind and lovable individuals. This is the first year our school has operated as a middle school. The students have adjusted well with new teachers, studies and schedule changes. Always willing to assist and help in any type of way, the students are most giving. It has been my joy to care for the students at my school.

My Project

As the school nurse, I am responsible for the health wellness and safety for every student, staff, and visitor on campus. There are many times when it is necessary for me to transport students or staff who have been injured, had seizures or experienced some other medical emergency.

Within the last year, one of our principals fell down the stairs and broke her foot.

Due to the fact that I had no wheelchair to transport her with an ambulance had to be called to safely move her to be taken to the hospital. It is best practice for not only the person being transported but also the person who is physically moving them to have a wheelchair available.
