I teach seven wonderful students with various disabilities. They love to learn in their own unique ways. They are curious about the world around them and love having fun. They learn best through visual representation.
I teach at a low-income school, and even though we are short on money, we are not short on compassion for our students.
Our staff works together on a daily basis to make sure our students feel safe and loved while they are in our care.
My Project
Microsociety has been a huge hit at our school. All senior wing students are able and have been participating. That means lots of paychecks have gone out and our stores are running low. This has been such an amazing program for our students and we'd hate to see it end because we cannot keep our store stocked.
During microsociety students are expected to do their class jobs.
These jobs may include store clerk, post office worker, payroll employee, etc. They are then given a paycheck that they can spend in the microsociety store. Students have a choice between a treat store or a toy store. Lots of students prefer to get a treat for their hard work.
The items requested in this project will help stock or food store portion of microsociety. Students have submitted which snacks they prefer so that we can restock the store with their favorites.
Please consider helping us keep microsociety going. Thanks for viewing our project!
