We have very talented and musically driven students. Students love coming to school and participating in the arts. The community is small but growing rapidly. Forty-nine percent of our students are at risk, in poverty, or live in areas of poverty. More than 50% of our students in band continue pursuing their instrument beyond high school, and many receive music scholarships to attend 4 year colleges. My students span 5th-8th grade, but most continue through 12th grade in our award winning marching band. My students are great people and learn to be fantastic contributors to society. I love my students and the way they represent our community!
My Project
These materials will impact my band students in a positive and effective way. Woodwind students need reeds to make their instruments function! I will be able to provide reeds to my students throughout the school year at no charge to them.
Students that cannot afford reeds will have the opportunity to explore their passion for playing woodwind instruments in band class!
