Help me give my students a color printer and scanner so that we can easily upload documents to transcribe them into Braille as well as enlarge them into large print worksheets.
My incredible students are extremely motivated and eager to learn. My students love to help others in the classroom. All of my students come from low income households and travel on a bus to get to our wonderful specialized vision classroom.
My students are either using Braille or large print due to their various visual impairments.
My students range from 3rd to 5th grade and come from all different cultural backgrounds. Although my students have various visual impairments and additional disabilities, that doesn't stop them from working hard and always being there to lend a helping hand!
My Project
Having access to a printer and scanner will allow me to both enlarge materials for my low vision students and scan worksheets and transcribe them into Braille for my students who are blind.
The students in my class are visually impaired and it would be extremely helpful for us to have immediate access to a printer/scanner so we can have materials in a flash!
Also, we would love to have some books we can read aloud about emotions, bullying and social studies as well. Adding to our classroom library will give us new opportunities to read together and have enthusiastic discussions and it will also allow us the opportunity to add some new books to our book baggies!
