Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We came to school Monday morning to discover that our school supply room and several classrooms were ransacked! Basic supplies such as papers, pencils, ink, and construction papers were destroyed! We don't have basic supplies to get us to the end of the school year.
Our school is made up eager elementary school students who enjoy coming to school, learning, and making a better world for themselves.
We are a 100% Free or Reduced Lunch school. Our neighborhood is extremely poor with a high incidence of violent crimes. Now, crime has directly impacted our school and the education of our students.
My third grade students are generous scholars who wish to make a difference in their school. They suggested that Donorschoose can help us get back some of the things that we lost.
My Project
We are requesting basic supplies to help get us through to the end of the school year. We would like papers to write on, copy paper and ink to print our projects on, pencils to write with, and so forth. Much of our supplies were destroyed in the vandalism and our school simply does not have the budget to re-supply us.
These items are basic necessities that every child needs in order to learn. It saddens all of us that someone in our neighborhood would do something like this, but we don't want to let it get us down or affect our education negatively.
Please help us re-supply our school with some basic learning tools and equipment.
