Mrs. King-Pamoja from Atlanta GA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a Macbook Pro, mouse, USB drive, protective case, etc. so that we may learn how to code, create web pages, and blogs.

In an area where failure is expected, we strive for greatness. My students work diligently to build a foundation that leads to their success. Although they haven't found success in their educational journey in a traditional sense, I believe exposure in the field of technology will lead to future success.
Sitting on top of a hill, surrounded by run down, abandoned, and dilapidated houses, our school serves as a beacon of hope.
As my students walk to school, they pass a plethora of drinking loiters who wear their hardships on their face; but some how they still come. Some come to school happy, some tired, some excited, and some with the world on their shoulders; but they are still willing to learn. As cliche as it sounds, my students' smiles could literally light up the darkest room and their fearlessness for learning is fit for a cape. When we turn on a tablet, phone, computer, or laptop, we become instantly engaged. So, when this question asks me what are my children like, my response is they are like untapped potential waiting for the right tools to thrive.
I would like a Macbook pro, head phones, and projector adapter, to further expose my kids to an area of learning in which they already love. I am offering them an opportunity to find academic success by teaching them to think through coding. Through coding games, website building/web design, and blogging, five students a day, five days a week, will have the opportunity to learn how to code. My goal is that eventually we would design our class' webpage, and work on our class' blog.
This donation will make learning not only fun, but will be an innovative way for my kids to become thinkers and problem solvers.
If my job is to prepare them for the world, to help end their cycle of poverty; then introducing my students to the S.T.E.M, through the use of technology, will build interest. This interest could lead to globally competitiveness. This means that they will find academic success now and be contributing members of society.
