Our school is in a humble, middle-class neighborhood in Texas. Although our school did not flood, many of our students were affected by the hurricane in August of 2017. I have a class of 22 students who use technology daily. Many my students do not have access to any technology at home. By providing them with these resources, we are helping them to become digitally literate members of their community. This could literally change their lives by providing them with vital skills for technology-based careers that do not even exist yet.
My Project
My wonderful STEM students need technology to expand their 21st-Century skills. I am requesting five iPads with cases to help us in our pursuit of personalized, purposeful, and authentic learning. We strive to create a community of life-long learners who will rise to meet the challenges of our ever-changing society. We will utilize the iPads in all subject areas and they will be crucial part of the learning process during our engineering labs, science labs, and research. My second-grade students will benefit from the use of these iPads for activities as simple as utilizing QR codes to as complex as creating digital portfolios. My students would benefit greatly having the use of this technology daily in my classroom.
